Naturals took part in a trans-national project for Irish and Welsh textile designers. We designed warm, casual clothes with a country feel in natural fleece colours.

When the project ended all the companies were given a team of models and photographers for a session.  We had a brilliant December day.  Local children out riding came to join in  ....

We used Hebridean Rare Breed Wool and Black Welsh Mountain with a contrast check in Llanwenog for these gilets.  Lined and zipped,  his has a collar, hers a lined hood.  Knitted rib collars in the same yarn an option.

Her long sweater with Aran pattern yoke is in Light Aran yarn.  Hat in Jacob wool and Alpaca.  His hooded poncho, with sleeves, is in Jacob wool.  Long fingerless mitts also in Jacob.

Our models insisted on swapping clothes around.

Yarn for the woollen fabrics was spun mainly from our flock by the Natural Fibre Company.  To add a luxury feel to traditional weaves we commissioned this design to be woven in Alpaca by Melin Teifi at the National Wool Museum.  The waistcoat has back lacing, the pirate pants are lined in red glazed cotton as is the contoured shoulder bag.

Our designer and fashion illustrator Lesley Arrowsmith makes first samples.  Small runs are made for us on commission. We don't mass produce.

We don't set out to design for individuals but most of our clothes can be personalised and are adaptable to non-stock sizes. Winter is the best time to talk to us about making one-off items with an individual twist.
